Today is Veteran’s Day and it is a day in America that we have set aside to honor those who have risked their lives for our country, past, present and future. I have a long line of veterans in my family. Almost every man in my family has served some time in the U.S. Army.
My grandpa and uncles were drafted into the army. My dad enlisted and served 22 years until he retired as a Seargent First Class. My brother currently serves as a Seargent in the National Guard. He has completed two deployments to the Middle East. Now, I am also proud to say my husband is a veteran. He has served one deployment so far. I am very proud of all the men in my family. They are my true heroes.
Being in the military is definitely not an easy job and I am reluctant to say that I have not really noticed it until very recently. But it takes a true warrior to endure the hardships that they go through in order to provide for a better America.
So while you are enjoying your 3-day weekend, I hope you take a moment to thank a veteran for their service to our country.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
