For The Season of Thanksgiving

I just wanted to share some positive insight with you all. I saw this quote the other day on Instagram (I don’t remember who posted it, sorry!), but it really had me thinking about how grateful I am to be where I’m at in life. It’s Thanksgiving season so what better time to share, right? Anyway, back to the quote I saw. It said “I still remember the days I prayed for the things that I have now”. Every day I think about how far I’ve come in life; the things that I have now that I really do remember specifically praying to God for in the past. God really does answer prayers and he does have a plan. He might not have always given me exactly what I had asked for but, if he didn’t, he gave me something better or I realized that I didn’t really want/need whatever it is that I had previously asked for anymore anyway.


Once specific example is my husband (it’s cheesy, I know!). I remember the days, before I knew him, that I actually prayed to God to bring me him one day. I dreamt about what I would want in a husband and in marriage and He gave it to me. When I was around 19-20 years old, I read a book called “Praying For Your Future Husband”. I really wished I would have read this book sooner and I definitely recommend it to any young girl/woman. Just as the title says, the author speaks about praying for your future husband; praying to God about preparing his heart for you. We always think about our life with our husbands after we get married, but rarely do we think about all those moments before we meet them that prepare and mold him to be that perfect someone for you. Even though, at the moment, we don’t know who that person is, God knows and it’s important to be praying for them.


Anyway, the point of this post is to be patient and wait. Good things are to come. Life comes in seasons and seasons come and go. If you are experiencing a season of grief, just know that it will pass in time. Be thankful always for the things you have and focus less on the things you don’t. You’ll never be happy if you only focus on the things you don’t have. Try to think of at least one thing you are grateful for or one good thing that happened to you during the day.
