Hey guys! Happy Wednesday! It’s already halfway to the weekend, ya’ll! I’m so excited. I live for the weekends. I love being able to wake up naturally (not by an annoying alarm) get things done around the house and just do things on my own schedule – not work! My job is really something else, guys! I’m still looking for that dream job! But let me tell you, finding jobs is difficult for a military spouse. We have to find something that is flexible that will be able to transfer them whenever they PCS to a new duty station. Also, I’ve heard that not many employers are too excited to hire military spouses (and spend time/money on training them) knowing that they will have to leave them in a couple years. It’s just not cost effective for them. But, don’t get me wrong, there are some opportunities out there! You just have to find them.
So yesterday, I went with my husband to my 2nd FRG meeting. My 1st one was actually a year ago. It was right before his deployment and we decided to go to gain some information regarding the deployment. To be honest, it’s not really my cup of tea which is why I haven’t been since. But having my husband want to be more involved and supportive to his company, I knew that I also had to show my support for my husband by going with him (Oh, the sacrifices you make when you’re married!). I’m a pretty introverted person so the idea of any type of social gathering where I don’t know anyone does not appeal to me. Not only that, but everyone else seemed to be able to relate to each other because they all have families. We are married with no kids and it’s kind of hard to find other married couples in the military just like us. Anyway, this meeting was more of an informational meeting so we were able to gain some useful information after all. They talked about finances and other resources available to soldiers and their families that not all may know about. It was a good experience but still gathering up the motivation to go to the next one (Sorry hubby! I’m trying, I really am!).
After the FRG meeting, it was too late to go home and cook so hubby and I headed over to Chipotle and got some burrito bowls to go. It was so good (or maybe I was just really hungry). We came home and ate our dinner while watching this new show we found on Hulu called “The Path”. We’re only on the 2nd episode but so far it’s pretty good. It’s kind of confusing but it has us wanting to watch more to figure out what the heck is going on!
Anyway, only two more days left of this week. Hope all is doing well. If you find that your day is getting stressful, just hang in there! Tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity to start fresh. Let me know what you all have been up to this week!
Until next time!
